Socialize your software
A new social networking service has recently started up, and thankfully it’s an original idea. Now before you read on, I should warn you, if you’re paranoid about your online privacy you won’t terribly be enthusiastic about this idea. Admittingly I had some trouble getting used to the thought at first, but I can see how this could be very useful.
Anyway, moving on, the service is called wakoopa. Once you sign up, you download a small application that monitors which applications you use, and for how long. You can also review the software you use, and view other people’s reviews. Recommendations based on the data will also appear on your ‘dashboard’. Another feature I found useful is notifications of which installed software is out of date. Note that all this information can also be syndicated into an RSS feed(nice).
As for the social part, nothing too revolutionary, you can add contacts, join teams, etc. Code to put on your website/blog for displaying a small widget of your top 10 software is provided, not too much customization allowed, but the service is new, so that’s forgivable. Example:
If you don’t feel comfortable installing such software, leave a comment explaining why, I’d like to hear from you. Otherwise, sign up here and view my profile here

I’m VERY VERY interested with this new application…but could you please explain a little bit more regarding the privacy matter in regards to this new software? Does it mean my private information can be automatically viewed by everybody?

“Once you sign up, you download a small application”
That’s true- Most people are paranoid to install software from the websites.
I recommend you to brush “Sign up” button in other color - like pink or green in wakoopa logo - these colors are more friendly than black - and it gives more highlighting to main button of website.
imho.
